Problem

Meeting note tools are either locked in SaaS with your data on their servers or too basic to generate structured notes with action items and decisions. You either sacrifice privacy or quality; noter removes that trade-off.

Approach

Self-hostable app with real-time Deepgram transcription (speaker diarization included), AI-generated structured notes via OpenAI (5 built-in templates: 1:1, team meeting, customer interview, lecture, general, plus custom prompts), and a chat interface to query your full notes history. noter began as a self-hosted web app and is now being rebuilt as a native macOS app for a faster, more local experience.

Outcome

End-to-end working app, which I use every day and improve constantly. MIT open-source. 310+ tests.
